배회행위의 관점에서 바라본 국내 재활병원 병동부 복도공간의 치유적 환경계획 특성 연구

초록

This study aims to study therapeutic environmental design characteristics of corridor spaces in the ward of rehabilitation hospitals in South Korea, focused on patients’ loitering behaviors. Based on the literature review, three design characteristics such as openness, circulation, and social/natural features were addressed and each criteria was attributed with three specific design elements. Three rehab hospitals and ward floor plans were analyzed for loitering behavior studies. Overall, the corridor spaces were planned suitably to accommodate openness, circulation, and social/natural features, however, the corridor in the remodeled hospital ward was found not as articulated as other two new constructions to accommodate therapeutic design attributes. The implications of this study is summarized and further investigations are suggested.
