초록

This paper aims to develop a ground propeller test jig for the initial sizing of the power system of an electrically propelled multicopter aircraft. The ground propeller test jig was designed and manufactured to align the thrust direction parallel to the ground, minimizing ground effect. Additionally, the jig was configured to face each other in consideration of future coaxial contra-rotating tests. To enhance the reliability of the test jig, calibration tests and dynamometer tests were conducted for each sensor and test motor, validating the ground propeller test jig. To improve the reliability of the measured propeller performance data, the Actuator Disc Model was applied using the User Defined Function (UDF) feature provided by the FLUENT solver. Accurate aerodynamic data of the airfoil for the selected propeller were established using the XFOIL program. Ground propeller tests were conducted on three different propellers, demonstrating the reliability of the ground propeller test jig. © 2025 The Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences.
