Dynamic power cables are used for transmission between floating offshore wind turbines and offshore substations. Due to their limited length, dynamic power cables are vulnerable to external forces, including waves, currents, and wind. External forces induce nonlinear tensile forces and bending moments on the power cables. Therefore, it is necessary to design the configuration of power cables while considering external forces. This study aims to design a lazy wave configuration for a dynamic power cable used in a 15 MW floating offshore wind turbine. To design the configuration, a parametric study is conducted considering three design variables. Static analysis is then performed on the generated cases. The analysis results are examined to select an optimal static lazy wave configuration. Dynamic analysis is then performed on the selected configuration by applying ultimate limit state conditions. In this step, we determine the minimum cable length required under ultimate limit state conditions and present the maximum load on the dynamic power cable. Dynamic analysis is also performed by applying fatigue limit states, evaluate the fatigue life of dynamic power cable.
