Electrocardiogram(ECG) and heart sounds offer the useful information of heart as non-invasive diagnosis methods which are important to the observer tries to analyze and synthesize the heart features for patient's heart disease. In this study, the system is based on the personal computer to control more easier at home and focused on low expensive system to spread widely to everyone. This system is interfaced with RS-232c for communications with ECG data and connected to line-in port of personal computer for recording the heart sounds. And, the user interface environments are programmed easily for users. The detected biomedical signals for ECG from the subject's heart will be an input port of the set-top box through the electrodes. This signals are pass through the pre-amplifier and filters for eliminating the noises and then dealt by the micro-controller to process filtering and amplifying more. This dealt by software results are compared with the result of hardware, we can get a reasonable results in this paper. This results contribute to making this system more smaller. In case of heart sound input, to show the possibility of application, the usual microphone for heart sound is used just for recording to PC through the line-in port. The heart sound can be recorded for a few time and be replayed any time just only reading the hard disk. Which data will be useful for data base later. The proposed prototype system has a shape of set-top box, that enable another input signals to re-construct more easier. Lastly, through the user interface environment, the observer can monitor the ECG and heart sounds. I sure this system will be applicable to telemedicine through the wireless communications and network afterward.
