MR Imaging and 1H MR Spectroscopy of the Patients with Fire-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

PURPOSE:To evaluate the findings of MR imaging and 1H MR Spectroscopy of the patients with fire-related posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD). MATERIALS AND METHODS:A total of fifteen fire-related PTSD patients were evaluated (M:F=10:5, age;15-17 years, mean age;16 years) with MR imaging and 1H MR spectroscopy with STEAM method with 30 msec of echo time. Eight age-matched normal volunteers were included. The regions of interest were in the basal ganglia(BG), frontal periventricular white matter(FWM), and parietal periventricular white matter(PWM)in all patients and controls.
