초록

This paper reports high-performance and sustainable composites made with natural fibers and bio-based resins. A lignin-based resin was synthesized, and to enhance the interfacial adhesion between fibers and resin, the surface of natural jute fibers underwent chemical treatments, significantly improving the composites' stiffness and mechanical properties. Notably, the flexural strength and Young's modulus increased by 69.7% and 291.7%, reaching 145.51 +/- 5.11 MPa and 19.23 +/- 0.85 GPa, respectively, compared to the untreated jute fiber composites. Additionally, water resistance and thermal stability were improved due to the fiber surface properties. These enhancements allow the feasibility of natural fiber-reinforced green composites for outdoor/indoor structural applications, reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with the use of petroleum-based materials.
