초록

These days, according to the growth of integration technology, multi-core system is ubiquitous. However, most applications do not utilize efficiently because those are not multi-threaded. If the application is not multi-threaded, then the performance of a single instance of that application will not change no matter how many cores are in the system. Thus, the biggest challenge facing software developer right now is the problem of writing multithreaded code that fully supports the multiple-core architectures. Whenever high density application, especially 3D game, is released, lots of users would upgrade their PC. Users want to know whether their PC works properly to play the application. Although recent high density games provide a benchmark mode in game, it is limited to FPS (frame per second) and other simple information. In this paper, we propose a real-time performance monitoring scheme for multi-core systems that provides load distribution of multi-core system, utilization of CPU and memory, and workloads of internal game modules as well as FPS and network traffic.
