초록

This study investigates the variations in four-stroke processes of a new rotary engine, which is originated from a three-lobe Gerotor pump (GP3 RTE) with the position variation of intake and exhaust port (IP/EP). The effects of IP/EP timing on the engine performance are quantitatively investigated based on the 3D CFD analysis results for the three kinds of experimental engine. The distribution principle of four-stroke in a cycle, the variation characteristics of real flow areas with IP/EP positions, and the unique characteristics of the new engine are well understood. The variation trends of engine performance with the IP/EP positions are determined using CFD results. These results may be useful for future optimization studies on IP/EP design.
