Development of regression model for metacognition of building energy users

Many countries are joining the net zero by 2050 scenario to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption. Researchers are investigating various approaches in building sectors to reduce building energy and carbon emissions. Among these approaches, the significance of residents' energy consumption behavior on carbon emissions is critical; thus, there is a need for methods to evaluate energy usage in buildings based on their characteristics. Therefore, this paper studied how to evaluate residents' energy consumption behavior for preschool childcare facilities. The process involved refining the data from the Incheon region through preprocessing and clustering, ultimately developing regression models to assess the light-, mid-, and heavy-user groups. The R2 values of the regression models range from 0.6 to 0.8, indicating satisfactory performance. © 2024 18th Conference of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate, INDOOR AIR 2024 - Conference Program and Proceedings.
