Smart Material Applications for Vibration Control

초록

This paper basically addresses the introduction on smart materials for vibration control. ER fluids have reversible rheological properties depending upon external electric field. This salient properties may attract many vibration control mechanisms such as dampers, mounts and intelligent structures. Piezoelectric materials are primarily applied to vibration control of flexible structures such as flexible manipulators, truss structures and rotor blades. Shape memory alloys are also applied for vibration contro of flexible structures with ralatively large control forces compared with piezoelectric materials.
