초록
The composition of the Chinese diet has been changed after adopting an open-market policy. We studied the perception on body characteristics, health-related attitude and body shape between Chinese and Korean students in Incheon. In this cross-sectional study, subjects were 126 Chinese and 85 Korean students. The age range of the Chinese students was from 18 to 29 years and for Koreans from 18 to 25 years. We used the InBody 3.0 to measure anthropometry and body composition of the subjects. Data of health-related attitude and practice were collected using a questionnaire. There were no significant differences in weight, waist-hip ratio, obesity degree and BMI between Chinese and Korean students. Although more Chinese students belonged to the normal BMI range compared to Korean students, this observation was not statistically significant. Chinese students(30.6%) cared more to maintain a healthy body significantly compared to Korean students(4.7%). Also 3.3% of Chinese students and 26.2% of Korean students thought eating two meals per day can prevent obesity. As for alcohol drinking, 20.0% of Korean students and 57.0% of Chinese students do not drink alcoholic beverages, respectively. The most results showed similar between Chinese and Korean students, possibly because both have similar cultures and living customs.
