Intelligent Cyber Logistics using Reverse Auction in Electronic Commerce

In Electronic Markets, customers may purchase products online, and the seller or the Internet-Shopping-Mall has to deliver the products to the buyers. Transportation agencies can be ordered to deliver the products from the Internet-Shopping-Mall. This method utilizes their competition for paying lower price of delivery ordering payment. Applying Multi-Agent System(MAS) approach enables an intelligent software agent to be delegated to schedule truck’s route which requires complex and repetitive efforts. This paper suggests intelligent cyber logistics framework as MAS and designs of intelligent software agent structure. The coordination mechanism derived form the reverse auction leads to improvement of overall system efficiency as well as increase profits of companies. For the purpose of awarding of contract, a transportation agency must find optimal truck schedules and decide adequate bids for delivery order. Bidding strategy is most important for the maximization of their profits.
