Background: Pharmacomechanical thrombectomy(PMT) is one of options for catheter based treatment of acute DVT. Its reports are limited. This study is to evaluate results of the Arrow-Trerotola Percutaneous Thrombolytic Device(PTD) in the treatment of acute DVT. Methods : This is retrospective study from prospective registered data base of the patients who underwent Pharmacomechanical thrombectomy for acute DVT from 2006 to 2011 in Inha University Hospital. Patient’s clinical characteristics, procedures and their results were analyzed through electoronic medical records and imaging review. Procedure was as followed : deployment of prophylactic inferior vena cava filter, grinding of blood clots with the Arrow-Trerotola(PTD), blood clots aspiration with Envoy catheter and optional thrombolysis if indicated. Results: Thirty-three patients (15 male, 18 female) was enrolled in this study from == patients who underwent catheter based treatment of DVT. Concurrent thrombolysis was used in 28 patients. Mean Age was ==±== year old. Prophylactive inferior vena cava filter was deployed in 32 patients(Optease 28, Celect 4). Iliac stent was inserted in 9 patients. Technical success rate was ==%. Procedure related complications was ==%. There were ==,==, and == as a complications. Mortality was ==%. There was recurrent DVT in == patient in == mean follow up. Conclusion: The PTD for acute DVT showed good results and can be considered as one of options for treatment of acute DVT.
