The addition effect of O2, N2, CH4, and CO2 on the laminar burning velocity of stoichiometric CH4/air premixed flames was studied both experimentally and computationally. The laminar burning velocity, (SL), were calculated by using the one-dimensional premix code of Kee and coworkers, and were compared with experimental results. Furthermore, studies were conducted extensively by adding the O2, N2, CH4, CO2 in the CH4/air of atmospheric condition of pressure and temperature, and by keeping the ratio of CH4 to Air supplies constant. The approach involves carrying out sensitivity analysis on the detailed kinetics. It is demonstrated that the main reactions determining burning velocities are the same. As a result, the burning velocity of CH4/air/addition mixtures is correlated for additions of O2, N2, CH4, and CO2.
