Apoptotic activity of rosmarnic acid depends on the chain length and the hydroxyl group of the phenyl-ring
초록
Rosmarnic acid consisted of DOPA moiety and caffeic acid moiety is a phnolic compound frequently in herbal plants. In jurkat, RosA induced apoptosis in an Lck-dependent manner. In this study, we determinied the functional moiety of RosA responsible for apoptotic activity. We divided RosA into three function domains. Addition of hydrphobic funtional groups to the C-terminal domain did not abrogate apoptotic activity unless it was too bulky. Instead. addition of the hydrophobic functiona group to the C-terminal doamin results in the stronger apoptotic activity.
