Brave New Gender: The Future of Sex and Gender

초록

This paper examines the main arguments of Ivan Illich's gender, a sort of precursory ideas to the overall perspectives of ecofeminism on the interconnectedness of women subordination and nature degradation. According to Illich, the loss of vernacular gender is followed by the rise of capitalism, as pre-capitalist society is based on the subsistence economic system deeply associated with vernacular gender that is specific to the time and place.
