On the origin of modified bismuth species in the electrocatalytic oxidation of formic acid on a platinum electrode
초록
Many studies have reported that the modification of platinum electrode with bismuth (Bi) resulted in the increases of anodic current in the electrocatalytic oxidation of formic acid due to suppressing the poisoning branch and increasing the apparent oxidation rate. However, the exact nature of active Bi species is still unclear and thus, we investigated the oxidation state of modified Bi species via cyclic voltammetry in combination with in-situ measurement of surface mass using electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance.
