초록

Recently the interest about face recognition and detection is gradually increasing in aspect of security and monitoring an indoor environment. This paper presents a system which detects fast the human face in image, acquired from CCD camera, and acquires a higher resolution face image, as large as needing for next image-processing, through PTZ(pan/tilt/zoom)-function. The next image-processing will be region splitting, face recognition, feature extraction, etc. In face detection system a given hit rate shows higher than 90% and a processing time shows more than 10fps. From the first frame, it takes about 0.6sec to acquire the face image required through PTZ.
