Designing Colored Pigments via Recycling Semiconductor Waste Utilizing Metal Oxide Coating
초록
Silicon sludge waste generated from the semiconductor dicing process is recycled as pigment for paints by coating with titanium dioxide (TiO2). After removing metallic impurities using HCl treatment, recycled silicon sludge (RSS) is coated with TiO2 via a sol-gel method to produce RSS/TiO2 pigments. The thickness of the TiO2 coating layer is carefully controlled to achieve a white and yellow color. These pigments are dispersed in hydrophilic varnish and spray-coated onto 2D substrates. Color parameters of the substrate are measured based on the CIE L*a*b* color space system. The L* values of white and yellow are 69.1 and 75.3. This study presents an effective method for recycling silicon sludge as a pigment for paint, demonstrating its potential as a viable and sustainable pigment material. - 본 연구는 2025년 정부(방위사업청)의 재원으로 국방과학연구소의 지원을 받아 수행된 미래도전국방기술 연구개발사업임(No.915066201).
