Analysis of Pitched Beam under a Point Load

The paper is concerned with the snalsis study on the behaviour of pitched beams which can be used in ship and land based structures. also is shows the optimum pitch angle when the weight of structure is minimum. Direct stiffness method is used as a analysis tool. A single point load is applied veritically on the apex and normal force on one inclined-beam under fixed and simply-supported boundaries at both ends. Firstly, the exmination is carried out on the behaviour of a plane pitched beam with different pitch angles and loading points. Finally, the optimum pitch angle and the worst load point are found for the optimal pitched beam design.
