Bearing Capacity of Sands Reinforced by Tirecell and Geocell

This study compared the reinforcing effects of sands by Geocell to those of newly devised Tirecell made by waste tires. Plate loading tests in a large chamber were conducted for different reinforcing materials at the same conditions of relative density, embedded depth of sand. The tirecell gives the higher bearing capacity and reduction of settlement than the geocell
