초록
A new technique for the location of acoustic emission(AE) sources in thin plates has been studied by using wavelet transform of AE signals. The detected AE signals were pre-processed with wavelet transform to decompose the low frequency flexural wave and the high frequency extensional wave. Since the flexural wave is highly dispersive, a decomposed flexural component has been extracted for a single frequency or within a very narrow frequency band by the inverse wavelet transform. The result of source location has been compared with those by the conventional as well as the corss-correlation method.
