Cytochrome P450 is known to catalyze monooxygenation of organic compounds. Presently various substituted dibenzylamines were oxidized with various oxidative catalysts. Relative rates and isotope effects were measured. The kinetic data may suggest that reversivle electron transfer followed by expulsion hydrofen atom (equivalent to hydride transfer)takes place for the debenzylations. Barton et al.. developed a family of chemical systems which allows the oxidation and functionalization of saturated hydrocarbons under mild condition(Gif systems). "Reactive" hydrocarbons were oxidized by us at room temperature by GoAgg V to yield corresponding ketones and alcohols. We modify GoAgg V system by replacing t-butyl hydroperoxide with periodic acid (GoAggIn). Various benzylic alcohols were easily oxidized with GoAggIn.
