On the Structural Energy Absorbing System for the Double Hull Tanker

초록

A new flexible double hull structure with tube stiffeners and floating frame is presented for the structural energy absorbing system of the double hull tanker.The dimension and disposition of tube stiffeners are determined to give the maximum absorbing energy.The total weight of proposed double hull structure system is kept thr same order of the standard VLCC's. A comparative study on collision resistance of these proposed side structures is carried out with standard double hull structure of 310K DWT class VLCC and presented the results for the improvements of the structural design.
