초록

This study is part of a larger study that examines the role that family, school and friends play in adolescent development and functioning. This study focused specifically mediating variables (self-efficacy and social support) and outcome variables (academic achievement, life-satisfaction). A total of 3,842 adolescents completed the questionnaire developed by Kim and Park (1997). The results indicate that adolescents receive more support from friends than parents and teacher as they grow up. Moreover, self-efficacy is an important factor that explains life-satisfaction and academic achievement. Implications of this study in relations to adolescent development will be provided.
