Vibration Control of a Wire Cut Discharge Machine Using ER Brake Actuator

This paper presents vibration control responses of a wire cut discharge machine using tension control brake featuring ER fluid. After manufacturing the ER brake device, the surface roughness and straightness of the workpiece are invetigated with respect to the intensity of the electric input field to the ER brake.
