The Control of Multimode Effect on Arrayed Waveguide Grating-Device

초록

The propagation modes of the optical waveguide are determined by the waveguide structure. Especially, the effect of the waveguide width is analyzed here. Even though the relative magnitude of other modes is quite small, it affects much on the crosstalk. As the index m changes, imaging profiles for other modes changes and can be controlled. Here, we found that the optimized value of m-order for the given ridge-type waveguide is equal to 45 to provide minimized channel crosstalk of about -25dB.
