Bacteria-mimetic cancer cells reprogram macrophages to boost antitumor immunity

초록

Macrophages are vital players in innate immunity and have drawn attention as potential agents in cancer immunotherapy. Nonetheless, their anti-cancer capabilities?such as phagocytosis and cytokine secretion?are often inhibited by the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. This study explores a strategy to reprogram macrophages by equipping tumor cell membranes with bacterial pattern molecules to simulate pathogen exposure, thereby invigorating macrophage-driven anti-tumor responses.
