Peritoneal lymphomatosis confounded by prior history of early gastric cancer: Case report

초록

Background: PL is a rare form of extranodal involvement of malignant lymphoma. PL, can be considered initially as peritoneal carcinomatosis of solid tumors because the clinical manifestations of both are very similar. Furthermore, if the patient has the history of solid tumor prior to PL the diagnostic approach can be more confused. Now we report a case of PL prior to early gastric cancer which was confirmed by ascites analysis. Case: A 59 year old woman complained abdominal distension, dyspepsia, and dyspnea for 4 weeks. She had been diagnosed for early gastric cancer and treated with endoscopic submucosal dissection 8 months ago. Imaging studies showed massive peritoneal seeding with both pleural effusion and small lymphadenopathies on mediastinum and left axillar area. Pathologic diagnosis was confirmed as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma by ascites fluid analysis. Consequently, she was tiven 6 cycles of rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and prednisone resulting complete remission
