초록

In this paper, we present a modified access scheme for the random multiple access in packet radio networks with variable length packets. For this system, we have proposed and analyzed a modified transmission algorithm which controls the output power level depending on the length of packet and time of generation. The immediate transmission control is used for improving channel utilization. The basic idea of the immediate transmission controls is that each packet can be sent immediately unless it overrides the slot boundary. The performance is analyzed based on a capture model. We carry out the performance comparison of the proposed protocol with the conventional s-ALOHA and show the considerable improvement of the protocol.
