The Role of Japanese Settlers within the Japanese Colonial Government’s Wartime Mobilization Campaign
초록
This study aims to determine the important role of the Japanese settlers in colonial Korea played during the wartime mobilization policies by observing their movements for daily life improvement. The Green Flag League Women's Association which led by the Japanese female colonial settler, Setsuko Tsuda, was organized as a private organization in the earlier stage. But the association took the lead the movements for the daily life improvement for Korean people under the slogan of 'Japan and Korea as One' which was the core ruling banner of the Japanese Government-General of Korea since 1937. The movements for daily life improvement which they propelled is about savings in general, practicing austerity ultimately in order for the colonial Korean people to perform as loyal and faithful subjects of Japanese empire. The Japanese colonial settlers played as important agents in getting the ruling ideology of the colonial authority delivered and carried out in everyday life of colonial Korean people.
