Purpose: This study aims to develop a robust performance evaluation model specifically designed for R&D projects in the field of sports science and technology convergence. Method: To ensure both academic rigor and practical validity, a Delphi survey was conducted with a panel of twelve experts who possess extensive experience in sports-related academia and research and development (R&D) implementation. The consensus-building process utilized open-ended questions and iterative feedback to synthesize expert perspectives on the conceptual definitions, strategic objectives, and evaluation metrics relevant to the convergence of sports technologies. Results: The systematic Delphi process yielded a comprehensive set of quantitative and qualitative performance indicators designed to address three core R&D pillars: resolving practical challenges in the sports field, enhancing athletic performance, and advancing public health. Based on these consensusdriven metrics, a final performance evaluation logic model was constructed to facilitate a holistic assessment of R&D effectiveness. Conclusion: The proposed model provides a structured approach to evaluate the impact of sports science and technology, offering a pathway toward industry sustainability and enhanced national competitiveness. Furthermore, this framework contributes to the institutionalization of evaluation standards, ensuring accountability and the strategic alignment of future convergence-based research initiatives.
