초록

Angiosarcoma is a rare malignant vascular neoplasm that can arise in any part of the body. Specific recognition of this neoplasm in cytological specimens is difficult in the absence of ancillary method. We present cytologic findings of two cases of angiosarcomas diagnosed on fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC). One case is recurred angiosarcoma in left chest wall and the other case is lymphedema-associated angiosarcoma in left lower leg. The two cases were confirmed by histopathologic examination with immunohistochemical studies on excision biopsy. Both cases were high grade angiosarcoma. The cytologic findings of lymphedema-associated angiosarcoma and recurred angiosarcoma are similar. This report emphasizes that when aspiration smears show vasoformative features consisting of arborizing microtissue fragment, microacini and intracytoplasmic lumen in a bloody background, angiosarcoma should be included in the differential diagnosis and diagnosis can be made with immunocytochemical confirmation.
