Collaborative Conflict-Handling Model For Multimedia Authoring

As collaborative computing technology goes widespread, interactions among concurrent users are very important. So recent CSCW systems require conflict-handling mechanism. But existing co-authoring tools and CSCW systems have limitations for conflict handling mechanism. In general, co-authoring tools provide solutions that one or certain users’ views are influenced for conflict handling. These solutions have advantages to accomplish rapidly for conflict handling, but other authors’ views cannot be affected sufficiently. In this paper, we propose co-authoring model using collaborative conflict handling mechanism. Using this mechanism, authors can affect their own views to their works. As contents are created in these forms, system can provide proper materials according to users’ requirements. Proposed model is useful for educational multimedia material authoring, and EDI systems based on structured form of document such as XML.
