A Circuit Design of a Quaternary to Binary and Binary to Quaternary Converter

In this paper, we proposed a circuit design of Quaternary to Binary Converter(QBC) and Binary to Quaternary Converter(BQC). The proposed QBC and BQC have the encoder and decoder function property. Binary to Quaternary encoder/decoder is essential for Quaternary valued-logic to realize a certain Quaternary logic design between a binary logic input and binary logic output. νMOS circuits are adobted to design the proposed QBC, and standard CMOS technologies are used in the BQC. We simulated the proposed circuits with a double poly 4-metal standard CMOS 0.35μm technology. The power supply voltage was 3.3v and the output simulation results show the characteristics of low noise and high speed sampling rate. An easy modular design structure and well suited for VLSI implementation properties are obtained by the proposed circuit design of our paper.
