A Study on the accumulation of infrastructure and the place-making come out from urban sprawl

The study analyze the problem of spatial neglect and severance by the urban sprawl and the accumulation of infrastructure in the 20th century industrialization process, and research on the method of place-making, from the underdeveloped infrastructure to the public area, through the interpretation and application of program required by the modern urban situation. Especially, the border condition with bridge structure and subway station(Guil station) as the middle point of the city of Seoul, Incheon’s expansion and connection was set the scope of research. Likewise, the study is review an alternative to overcome the Guil station’s border condition through various case studies and a comparative analysis about interpretation of urban structure produced by the process of modern urbanization. In addition, through a detailed analysis about context with the site, suggest a new possibility of the urban complex facility for the public society.
