Design of Silicon Nano-Waveguide CWDM Couplers Combined with 5th-order Coupled Resonator Optical Waveguides

In this paper, we present a simple design of coarse wavelength-division multiplexing (CWDM) couplers on silicon waveguides for 1.3-m-band 4-channel-Ethernet optical transceivers. The channel wavelengths of the 4-channel WDM optical transceivers with 10-Gb/s per channel are 1.27, 1.29, 1.31, and 1.33 m. We have used a directional-coupler-type WDM device scheme combined with 5th-order coupled resonator optical waveguides (CROWs) for the four channel multiplexing and demultiplexing.
