Soft tissue chondroma of the fallopian tube -A case report-
초록
Extraarticular chondroma can occurs in the hands feet, or head and neck. This tumor is presenting as solitary small nodule. The histogenesis is controversial but some have suggested a metaplstic origin. The previous report of the chondroma of the fallopian tube is only one. The origin of this tumor can be subcoelomic mesenchyme of the tubal serosa or mesenchyme of the myosalpinx. If the mass is not completely removed at operation, the possibility recurrence would be increased. We have experienced the case of a chondroma arising from the soft tissue of the fallopian tube. A 30 old year female visited our hospital due to left adnexal mass. It was revealed by the routine gynecologic examination. On operating finding, 2x3cm sized nodular mass was noted on the left tubal serosal area. The excised mass showed multilobulated apeearance covered with fibrous thin membrane, measuring 3x3x1.5cm. The cut surface showed variable sized cartilagenous islands. The microscopic finding showed islands and elongated lobules of mature benign cartilage showing well formed lacunae and cytologically bland appearing chondrocytes. Multifocal enchondraltype calcifications were present throughout the mass. The chondroma can be confused with chondrosarcoma because of their focal degree of hypercellularity and immature cytologic appearance. However, basic cytologic features show benign looking appearance and can be diagnosed as chondroma
