Web Service Selection with Uncertain QoS Information and Heterogeneous Influencing Factors in Expanded Service Model

We conceive a practical service selection strategy under a quality of service (QoS) hierarchical structure taking uncertain QoS information and heterogeneous influencing factors into account jointly. A reputation authentication center is introduced into the traditional web service structure, which can help to measure the credibility of information announced by the service providers and dispose the feedback from the users. With this scheme, the impact of deceptive advertising on service selection can be reduced, and the various requirements of service consumers can be satisfied. The uncertainty of the QoS information is characterized by the possibility degree method (PDM). The weight of the various influencing factors on QoS performance is determined by virtue of the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Experimental results show that our proposed strategy can provide an optimal service selection for users under the condition of uncertain QoS information and different influencing factors.
