초록
This paper describes a new method to improve the performance of interrupt service routines. We are aware that the overall system performance can be improved by the enhancement of interrupt latency. SSMT is a new microarchitecture which generates microthreads to help a primary thread. Since SSMT machine has several advantages with which we can reduce execution time of instructions, we propose new method, flying interrupt, which executes interrupt service routine as microthread in SSMT machine. Simulation results show that the SSMT machine with flying interrupt method improves the overall performance.
