A Study on Recycling of Industrial Heritage in Yeongdeungpo Industrial Area

The study investigates how to renew old industrial area on the outskirt of Seoul to be now a part of subcenter city due to urban expansion, and how to recycle abandoned industrial heritage. Selecting Yeongdeungpo District as an object site, developed as a central industrial complex on the outskirts of Seoul during the industrialization, the main argument is focused on the process of re-urbanization of the old industrial area in the advent of post industrial society and urban expansion. The main purpose of the study is, therefore, to explore the strategy and recycling tactic for urban renewal exhibiting the identity of Yeongdeungpo area.
