Numerical Study on the Dynamic Response of Directors

The generation of disclination as well as texture patterns in domain wall for VA (vertical alignment) LCD is thoroughly investigated with a numerical simulation. In this paper, we discuss the physical mechanism for the generation of domain walls in the chevron structure using a full three-dimensional FEM simulator, ‘TechWiz LCD,’ and compare the simulation results with experimental reports.
