The Relevance and Importance of Developing Copyright Policies and Starategies: A Useful Tool and Contributor for National Cultural and Economic Development

Copyright is the basis for creativity and culture because copyright protection leads to an abundance of diverse works that would not otherwise have been created. Koren Copyright Act has been revised at least 14 times since 1957, mainly for strengthening protection. Korea granted right of making available to auhors in 2000, to performers in 2004, diverse remunertins to neighboring rights- holder since 1986. Criminal liabiities has been fortified in terms of prison term. However, for the juvenile delinquents or first time offender, Koea developed a couple of schemes. If first time offenders take 8 hours of copyright classes administered by KCC(Korea Copyright Commission), prosecutor suspends prosecutin. And,prosecutor may dismiiss teh complaint without investigating the merits considering the seriousness or background of teh case and so on.
