In order to verify the digital signature, the verifier should verify the signer’s public key certificate corresponding to the private key used to generate the signature and should assure that the signer’s certificate was valid at the time the signature was generated. Therefore, he needs the certificate status information at that time. This paper deeply describes the problems that can occur when the signature formerly generated is verified by using CRL or OCSP. And we propose the solution.
