Clinical Course and Proposal for Treatment Strategy in the ERCP-Related Duodenal Perforation: A Multicenter Study

Background: The incidence of duodenal perforation (DP) complicated with ERCP is very low ranging from 0.3% to 1.3%, although the clinical outcome may be fatal. Most previous reports about clinical features of ERCP-related DP are singlecentered and small-scaled, and their results depended on personal experience lacking objectivity. We investigated the clinical course and outcome of patients with ERCP-related DP, and proposed treatment strategy on the basis of our data.
