Microstructure and grain boundary character distribution analysis in grain-refined pure Zirconium

초록

Commercial pure zirconium (Zr702) of a hexagonal close packed a phase was grain-refined through two independent methods, equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) and cold rolling that generates a high density of twins. Random high angle grain boundaries and twin boundaries produced by two respective methods, as confirmed by TEM and EBSD, divided the microstructure into regions of about 300nm and 15micronm respectively. The grain boundary misorientation distribution of grain-refined by ECAP is unaltered during grain coarsening and cold rolled Zr retained the high density of twins through repetitive thermo mechanical processing method.
