Education of Resources Engineering in Korea and its Future Perspective

Under the circumstances of the educational reform and departmental merger in Korea, education of resources engi- neering is studied in the present paper. First, the consept of resources of redifined to include the ground of in-situ use. The role of resources engineering is them found to be far- reaching. To check the dengerous diversification, however, it is atempted to units various differing fields under two programs based on the unifying concepts of ground excavation and imaging : they are geo-engineering and geo-imaging respecively. Resources processing is recommanded to join ceramic, metallutgical engineerings and material science . The undergraduate education is to be given within the framework of the programs. Further purpose of a sub-unit of a program would better be done only in the graduate course.
