A study on automotive disc brake squeal noise

초록

Although a number of theories-stick slip, variable mu(d), sprag-slip, and geometric coupling-exist, generally acceptable solution has not yet been reported to the problem of brake squeal. This paper studied a mechanism of squeal phenomenon on braking. A closed-loop coupling model for squeal of a ventilated disc brake is presented on the basis of finite element method and modal synthesis method. In addition, a dynamic model is proposed to simulate squeal mechanism.
