Government’s Role for the Competitive Advantage of Korean Software Industry

Information technology industry is becoming important in determining a nation’s competitiveness in the twenty-first century. Spurred by the recent prosperity of the US economy that is based upon the emergence of digital economy, Korea now makes every effort to develop computer software industry. This paper analyzes the competitive advantage of Korean software industry based on Porter’s National Competitive Advantage Model and suggests some policy directions on government’s role in helping develop the industry.
