CO2 could be used as an oxygen source and can be considered as a non-traditional soft oxidant. Possible reactions with CO2 are the heterogeneous vapor phase catalytic dehydrogenations (CO2-DH) of light paraffins(C2-C4)and C2-C3-alkybenzenes into corresponding valuable low olefins and alkenylbenzens. Here we report our results on the field of CO2-DH of a number of hydrocarbons(ethane, propane, ethylbenzen, iso-and n-propylbenzenes, 1,4-diethylbenzens. 40ethyltoluene). Efficient catalysts were designed, characterized by several complementary physico-chemical techniques and perfected on the basic of revealed activity/structure relationships and detailed mechanistic considerations. Promotional effects of CO2 are explained by oxidize by its capability to oxidize hydrogen abstracted from the hydrocarbon and thus dehydrogenation equilibrium.
